Active Release Techniques (ART) is a manual soft tissue based method to break up adhesions, peripheral fibrosis, and scar tissue.  There are many modules that "Dr. Joe" has taken to allow him to be a more than competent soft tissue based practitioner.  Dr. Joe has taken: Upper Extremity, Spine(#1 and #2), Lower Extremity, Master's Certification, Biomechanics, Nerve Entrapments, and on the Elite Provider Network and Ironman Sports Medicine Network.  Many active individuals and athletes whether amateur or elite do request this form of Soft Tissue Management.  For more information about A.R.T. please visit https://www.ridgewoodspineandsport.com/active-release-technique

Graston Techniques utilizes a stainless steel instrument that breaks up adhesions, peripheral and deeper fibrosis and scar tissue.  Dr. Joe has taken modules I and II to be Certified.

KinesioTaping and Athletic/Supportive Taping is a taping technique to support the athlete/patient in dealing with a current, past or prevent a future injury.  Dr. Joe has taken 3 modules for certification.  We also have a great deal of experience with athletic taping for sporting events.

Physiotherapeutic and Rehabilitation: We currently utilize Ultrasound, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Class IV Laser (K Laser), Shockwave/Extracoporeal Shockwave Therapy/ESWT, Functional Movement Screens, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, Functional Range Conditioning and prescribe home based exercises to ensure you will get better quickly.

Functional Range Conditioning is a mobility procedure that has 3 components:

1. Mobility Development

Mobility refers to the amount of active, usable motion that one possesses. The more mobile a person is, the more they are able to maximize their movement potential safely, efficiently, and effectively.

2. Joint Strength

While improving mobility and movement potential, the FRC® system also acts to ‘bullet proof’ (or safe-guard) your joints so that movement can be executed safely.

3. Body Control

Training with FRC® improves the function of your nervous system. This leads to a reduction of pain and injury, joint health and longevity, as well as an increased ability to move freely and easily.

We are experienced in the treatment of the following:

Headaches, Neck Pain, Mid Back Pain, Low Back Pain, Shoulder Pain (Frozen Shoulder, Tendinitis, Rotator Cuff Injuries, Impingement), Elbow Pain (Golfer's Elbow, Tennis Elbow, Fencer's Elbow), Wrist Pain (DeQuervain's Syndrome, Intersection Syndrome, TFCC), Hip Pain (Sacro-Iliac Pain, Osteoarthritis of the Hip, Hip Impingement, FAI/Femoro-Acetabular impingement), Knee Pain (Meniscus, Ligament issues, Patellofemoral Pain, Runner's Knee, Osgood Schlatters Disease), Foot/Ankle Pain (High Ankle Sprain/Strain, Ballet Injuries, Cuboid Syndrome, Plantar Fasciitis, Achilles Tendinitis)

Chiropractic Care

We provide spinal correction utilizing gentle chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic have we been able to provide the level of help and expertise that now exists. These newer correction methods are even safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a Doctor of Chiropractic, Giuseppe Giovatto Jr, DC, DACBSP, CSCS has years of training and experience in spinal adjustment.
